Frank if he gets to box Cuban like he did against Fa and Ajagba. Not high on Agit though he has his merits.
Nope, no spin. You want to say Povetkin failed two tests, posters will argue with you on that, but even so, the trouble with that is Stiverne also popped dirty, so did Ortiz... Regarding Whyte not doing what WBC told him to do, I thought we already settled that argument years back, but if you want to relitigate all this, we can redo it all on this dump thread here: https://www.boxingforum24.com/threa...n-stoned-walled-post-color-line.685202/page-4 "If anything, it’s good that the WBC is making contenders fight bc they rarely do it on their own." Interesting take given we saw many of the top contenders fight in 2023 without WBC involvement. From memory the one directly involving the WBC was between Afe and Zhan which ended up being yet another screwing over of an unpopular name. So, I stand by what I wrote. I will look forward to Kabayel v Sanchez as a fight, but the inclusion of the WBC these days is never a net positive
And you can reread what I did in that thread. I lived through it. I know why Whyte didn't fight Ortiz and what the winner of that fight would've been entitled to.
I agree this isn't just a WBC problem, it is more how pro boxing revolves are marketable fighters. I'm definitely for this fight. Rather than them being left watching from the sidelines again. Sanchez already beat Ajagba then was left to stagnate. Kabayel just put in the performance of the night against Makhmudov, had already handily dealt with Chisora years back. So, I do like this fight. And to be honest I would have no issue if the WBC just said this is a final eliminator for the mandatory position. Especially in light of the following: #1 Joshua (fighting a gimmick bout against Ngannou) #2 Sanchez (fighting #4 Kabayel) #3 Parker (fighting for the WBO interim against Zhang) #4 Kabayel (fighting #2 Sanchez) This should be a final eliminator for mandatory position with the winner going to #1 above Joshua... Maybe they will be allowed to challenge after Joshua
I like it as a fight, and it wouldn't necessarily be illegitimate for the WBC to make it a final eliminator, given where they have them ranked.... But it's pretty laughable that either is ranked up there in the first place, really. Then again, it's the WBC and they're a pretty comical outfit all round.
Our interaction seems to have ended with a time-stamped video that had evidence of journalists catching the WBC up to no good regarding Whyte v Breazeale. The thread swung between discussion and name calling for a while. Finally getting bumped by a Fury fanatic for some off-topic point scoring. But it's fine, I suspect our position on Whyte v Ortiz is just different.
Yeah, I guess you are right. Sanchez seems a little high at #2, but then again he is aligned with #PBC, so that likely was influential. Kabayel, I think has a fair ranking given he beat Makhmudov who was ranked highly by the WBC before the fight, plus it was such a decisive performance.
For what he's actually done, Sanchez at 2 seems very high - but this is WBC. Likewise Makhmudov was way too high, giving Kabayel more credit with the org than he should've got for wiping the floor with him. As I say on paper it all makes sense... It just seems like a classic garbage in garbage out kind of equation.
Also refused to fight pulev mate in Bulgaria so h fury fought him instead. Didn't he give brezeale a wide birth as well? Whilst pushing some fantasy story about everyone scared of him and he deserved his shot without actually fighting an eliminator. Usual rematch room propaganda rubbish. Then got his shot and looked like someone who won some random raffle lol.
At one point, Eddie was throwing out the idea that they were about to fight Ortiz, and then he announced that he'd mad ethe fight that "the fans have been waiting for" and it was Derrick Chisora.
Cuban HWs never have good mandibles when they step up above fighting journeymen. I can smell glass. I would be backing Kabayel in this one via stoppage.
