I agree Canelo`s methodical style is boring.

If I spent a couple minutes tallying up pro boxers and coaches sentiments on the fight, almost assuredly the consensus would be Canelo won.

I've seen like 4 pros talk about it just in the last 5 mins not a single one thought Canelo didn't win.

His own promoter, whose embroiled in a bitter feud with Canelo didn't think Munguia won lol.

"No shame in losing to the current face of Boxing."

Haven't seen a single attempt from Oscar to try and say Jaime won the fight. (Because he didn't)

    Very entertaining fight
I ended up with a scorecard that had only 7 rounds for Canelo—Way better than I expected

A lot of those feuds help sell the fight. There are only a few major promoters in the world, and if you really pay attention, their fighters tend to help promote other promoters fighters.

They also tally fan opinion live. Halfway through Bivol vs Canelo they were saying Canelo was winning, but by the end they flipped their opinion. You have to get massive fan uproar to get them to say a face of boxing should have lost. Before promoters and people who work for promotions are anything they're promoters. A lot of top guys work with these promoters and will just help promote to keep their careers on track. My friend, who is a very good amateur, had it 114-113 Munguia, although we were talking during the fight.

I feel the same way. I watch his fights, but enthusiastically. I find them boring as well. Is it worth watching? It's pretty so-so action, imo.

I agree styles make fights, and I don't see how the lanky, poor defense Benavidez triumphs over the more experienced compact Canelo.

I have two thoughts on why the fight hasn't been made, it's either Canelo is letting it marinate, after all they both fight at PBC, or Canelo genuinely doesn't want to get disrespected into making the fight. I think it's probably the former.

Golovkin, Cotto, Lara, Trout, all in my opinion are higher caliber fighters with more skills, talent and boxing fundamentals.

I don't see why Benavidez gets so much praise. His best win is a decision win in a close fight against Caleb Plant who Canelo KO.

His next best win is an unproven fighter in Demetrius Andrade.

His best win after thT is against Dirrel who went life and death and could have lost against Yildirim, the same Yildirim you mentioned that Canelo obliterated.

I personally don't see Benavidez beating Canelo. His defense is way to leaky, and he's really not that quick, he does have a fast flurry, I'll give him that.

    My honest opinion

As opposed to standing in front of someone with your arms down and getting smashed in the face repeatedly?

Had it 116-111 Canelo, giving Munguia 1, 3, 8, and 9. Could honestly have gone a little wider. Maybe if you give Munguia the second, 115-112 is possible, but rounds 8 and 9 could easily have gone to Canelo based on quality. Kind of surprised that anyone thought Munguia did enough to win given that I thought Canelo clearly took six, along with the KD.

Good fight, overall. Was legitimately excellent in the first four, then lost a liltte bit of steam in the middle rounds following the KD. But, generally speaking, was still an engrossing watch from start to finish.

Hmmm I have a similar scorecard, but I gave 11th to Munguía and I'm not sure about 8th round.

Good fight. Munguía proved that he had his chances. It was unlikely, but possible.

Nontheless, Munguía's chin betrayed him. You cant win to canelo going to the canvas like that. It's not only the point that he lost, it is that it conditioned the following 3 or 4 rounds. Too expensive.
