Don't see why not Golota looked the same. Golota was actually outclassing him but Grant pulled through by establishing a jab and got the stoppage. Both of them were big punchers plus Grant also beat 2 fringe contenders in Izon and Savarese

One thing that cant be taken from Joyce though is the parker win. I dont know why Parker couldnt beat him but that win has shown to be quality.

Anderson is right up there, nothing I’ve seen in him suggests he’s the American heavyweight hope.

Joyce is who he is. A stiff, big puncher with a great chin, but that's it. And now that chin has been cracked forever.

Hrgovic to me was way more over hyped. Ok, his win over DiMori was awesome (lol) but he's done as a world class hw.

Zhang is on the same level of being overhyped.

Fat, forty-something and not a title shot to his name.

Yet there are threads in here, mostly full of simple foamers saying he’d KO everyone from Ali to Larry Holmes.

Regardless how how crap Joyce is now he still had two good wins over Parker and Dubois and for a small amount of time he was considered a serious contender

In Boxing it just comes down to A+B doesn't always equal C. Example:
    Joe Frazier beats Muhammad Ali
    Kenny Norton beats Muhammad Ali
George Foreman destroys both Joe Frazier and Kenny Norton
    Muhammad Ali beats George Foreman

I agree on the first part, without checking Grant's record did he have any decent wins? I seem to remember him always losing against any decent HW from memory.

I think Joyce beats Golota all day. The Pole seemed to crumble whenever he was up against it and even when he was beating Bowe he found a way out. I think as soon as he saw Joyce wasnt going anywhere, he would bail out

I know that boxing triangles can result with no clear heirarchy and styles make fights.

But I mean, I actually dont see how Parker couldnt outbox Joyce.

Makes me want to rewatch the fight.

I think the main reason of it was Joyce's enormous work rate/output. If you look at the guys whom Parker has outboxed, they had low work rate/punch output - Wilder, Zhang, even Ruiz.
