My issue is how people on this fourm worship him rather then with him personally

I'm not uncomfortable with Ali trying his hardest in boxing matches with Moore and Patterson.

Nor am I uncomfortable with Berbick trying his hardest in a boxing match vs Ali.

It's crazy to think otherwise.

I'd have rather Ali didn't come out of retirement, but there are far bigger mismatches round the world every weekend than the 3 x fights cited in the OP.

All too often we paint the victor as a villain when all he’s doing is his job. I don’t blame Berbick for beating Ali and nor do I blame Ali for beating Moore or anyone else who was ever in that same situation. When an athlete has reached a point where he or she can’t perform anymore then the sensible thing to do is retire….
