Tough fight between 2 fighters with granite chins, I'll take Toney by decision as I think he's just the better fighter all around.

I would make Toney the favorite. He was a fantastic middleweight

Toney at his best: IMO Toney is too good defensively and has enough offensive firepower to earn GGG's respect. Toney will make him miss those right hands and counter with big rights of his own. Toney by a close and clear decision.

    Lazy Toney = GGG wins.

But at their best? Toney close but clear. He has quicker hands, is better defensively and is the more bold fighter in terms of taking risks.

@BCS8 Toney beats the brakes off your boy :nonono addressing OP “Big” James beats GGG but at 160lbs… before the McCallum fights? it’s close-ish he was still yet to become the lovecraftian being we all love that bout was the ritual for his accession to celestial status. Best for best @168lbs Toney makes him quit if Gennedy is down to fight all the way. GGG is too damn simple he’d get Canelo, GGG and all the other 160-168lbs guys holding fragments form the last 10 years in 3 calendar years easy if he wanted to. JT could’ve been one of the best ever but he loved the high life G’s got the will but Toney had an Ali like quality for punishment GGG would barely make a blip on the radar.

    Pffft.

"At his best" Golovkin destroyed the entire middleweight division.

    He looked immortal. Untouchable.

Meanwhile we have "peak Toney" getting thumped by Tiberi

Just checked… no it’s still a win over Tiberi?… in near just over 5 years he built a better resume then Mr GGG ( despite 16 years as a pro… yikes) that’s including wins over guys better then GGG Toney was also without the aid of a Soviet 300 fight amateur career starting at 11 to debut with… Toney was the real deal a natural born killa whose only Achilles heel was Mountain Dew and Pizza. “Big” Toney also has an official fictional win over George Foreman where as GGG has never won a forum poll let alone a debate over a 70s HW, treatment to “Ice Tea’s” greatness.

Yeah and RJJ lost at the olympics

    At 160? Doubt it.

Just wait. It's only a matter of time that Golovkin defeats Joe Louis in a forum poll. I'm working on it.

GGG wouldn’t even be able to take Uncle “Iights On” Young in Puerto Rico he didn’t have the old school grit… it’d be a stoppage… say what you will about Toney he had a 70s bone structure and that mugger strength.

I didn't know he was a mugger. That changes things.

typical hater tactics. you pick a fighter on his worst night for a fantasy matchup. and disregard everything else he accomplished.
