Usyk is defending against someone he knocked out with a jab lol.

If anyone has a deck stacked against them, its a fighter who's previously been jabbed the **** out lol.

Steroids make one stronger, more energetic and more durable.

This fight is in London on a Queensberry-promoted event. You must not have been following boxing for long if you haven’t seen the corruption on old Fish Eyes’ cards in the UK (much worse than Matchroom events).

Usyk is probably on better steroid than Dubois anyways he has far more resources.

What was the last act of corruption you saw from Warren?

And then conversely when was the last time a Warren fighter lost and you believe it was on the level?

There is an old story about Sam Langford. Before a fight, he saw his opponent's trainer slicing oranges, and asked him why.

"For my fighter to suck on between rounds."

Langford smiled and replied, "man, you ain't gonna need them oranges." And he proceeded to knock his opponent out in the first.

Similar thing here. Warren can buy him all the bad officiating and judging...Charles can get him on the best PEDs to be found in Brazil...ain't going to matter.

The thing about going down from a jab as Dubois did is that there’s plenty of implied room for improvement.

Not to take anything away from Usyk nor to say that Dubois wasn’t heading toward defeat anyway but that KO by jab appeared to be a black and white surrender - Dubois obviously being capable of showing more mettle than that - which he has arguably done since that fight.

Also, while Usyk has been successful at HW, and won his last several fights clearly, one can’t take for granted that he has often been called upon to uphold his own mettle in virtually every fight to tough out some rough periods - the first Dubois fight included.

Usyk might be that much angrier this time around, especially given the false accusations levelled at him by Dubois and his team.

As long as he doesn’t let it get the better of him and channels that anger into practical execution, all good - but I’m detecting Usyk being a bit more needled than in previous fights - maybe he’ll start looking to get Dubois out of there fast??

Probably not but I doubt it'll matter. I'm picking Usyk to end this before the halfway point.

The better question is, will Ezequiel Gregores get a fair shake?

If he goes that route I won’t be surprised if it backfires. He’s got a formula that worked every single time. Why abandon it for what might even be his last fight?

Dubois will use an assortment of low blows, head butts and other tactics to force a “British Stoppage” on Usyk.

    Unless he quits, again.

    I totally get that.

Usyk is the poster boy for supreme (best possible) conditioning and discipline, discipline that includes sticking to strategy over the long haul when necessary - prepared to play the long game - particularly effective against the oversized SHWs who gas in the later rounds.

It has served him well at HW thus far though it has exacted no mean measure of wear/tear in most of his fights at HW.

I’ve detected more aggression being incrementally infused into Usyk’s game in his last several fights in correlation with him being that much less mobile - less mobile due to age and not quite having the stamina he used to have.

That increasing aggression was also apparent in the first Dubois fight before Usyk embarked on his series with Fury, just imo. Against Fury, I think Olek showed that much more aggression again.

Instinctively, a fighter might eventually think why put myself out for yet another 12 rounder or near enough to - why not try to get this sucker out early for a much easier night - especially a fighter who employs blatantly dirty tactics as Dubois does - with a single and particularly damaging low blow or head butt from DDD quite possibly changing the course of the fight?

Ultimately, in view of Usyk’s own age and accrued wear/tear, there may also be perils involved in allowing Dubois to last longer than is necessary - but that is subject to exactly where Usyk himself is at right now in terms of viably boxing out a full route fight.
