Dont think you can really put Hopkins alongside the rest of these guys when it comes to resume either
That's silly. Eubank, Bika, Kessler, Mitchell, Brewer, Woodall and loads of others were tough fighters. How many great fighters have strange losses to fighters you wouldn't expect them to? It takes dedication to string up a list of title defences like Calzaghe and Hopkins did, no matter who the opponents were.
De La Hoya, Pavlik, Calzaghe, Tarver, Trinidad, Winky, Jermaine Taylor...... and that's just in the last 5 or so years. He's fought pretty much everyone, win or lose and always tried to avenge his losses.
Don't forget Pavlik. That **** was impressive! It was so impressive in fact that right now people think Pavlik sucks which is definitely not the case. Now that could have been a good win on Calzaghe's resume, he missed the opportunity.
Keep an eye out for this poster, fellas. ^ He established himself as an objective and critical talent quite awhile ago. We need more posters like this.
I'd favor Calzaghe to beat: Leonard, Hearns, Haglar, and Duran @ 168. Chavez and Pac. are too small and he allready beat Hopkins before Hopkins fought, to paraphrase, "The greatest fight of my career" , against Pavlik. If Calz. retires undefeated his legend will grow
Did Otke's legend grow? Serious question, because you have to know that picking apart detail by detail a fighters accomplishments is what boxing historians do. We know this. If or when Kessler goes down, Calzaghe's legacy will be significantly damaged according to many people already.
