So the fight has been made...but why Cotto's title is on the line and not Pacquiao's?

    135.1-140=Light Welterweight

    140.1-147=Welterweight

    145 falls under Welterweight. So they have to fight for Cotto's belt. If you want to have pac's belt, tell cotto to fight pac @ LWW range (which I doubt cotto will agree)

    ... i think the thread starter doesnt even know much about the division and its range... you cannot put your jww title ( 136-140 lbs ) at stake if you're going to fight at 145lbs

    147 lbs. = WW LIMIT

    therefore, 140.1-146.9 lbs are within the limit.

    you should stick to your coloring book and crayolas. leave the boxing talk to adults.

    Not to nitpick or anything, and you're free to call me a N00b, but isn't Welterweight from 105 (current minimum weight) up to 147lbs? Much like LWW is from 105 to 140lbs?

    I don't think there's a minimum weight in the weight classes, as long as you on or below the max weight.


    And oh yeah, be nice to the TS... everybody wants to make an impression around here! :nut

    yes, you can weigh in any weight you want as long as it's not over 147lbs (or 140lbs). but it's stupid to do that though, therefore the consensus today would be 141-147 or 136-140, and it's just right

    136-140 = Junior Welter/Super Light
    141-147 = Welter

    145 weight limit (141-145) is still on the welterweight range.

    Get it now? WTF man even the posters at boxrec know this. You should be ashamed of yourself.
