No, Calzaghe was ranked in the top ten P4P before he fought Kessler. P4P rankings need to be based on a body of work against a range of opponents. How often do we see people proclaimed as top ten P4P that clearly never should have been there (in the last couple of years - Kelly Pavlik? Anotnio Margarito ). Personally, I wouldn't rank anyone that highly on the basis of one win only. Ward has the opportunity to achieve that in his next four fights however.

Not really sure what your point is. Yes, Ward has potential. No he should not yet be elevated to a P4P standing. That should be based on achievements, not potential. That's hardly a radical standpoint. If Ward does go onto achieve the kind of things that he has the potential to, then that doesn't prove my current standpoint wrong?
