Darn, look how skinny and mobile Oscar used to be.:yep

If I remember correctly Ruelas spent a few nights in the hospital after that.:deal

I think that was his second best left hook. That one against Vargas wasn't as explosive as these one vs. Mayorga and Ruelas

Kinda of funny hearing Lampley say that there were questions about about both fighters chins knowing how good Oscar's chin truned out to be.

Tito had a great left hook, but imo Oscar's left hook was a thing of art.

Manny Steward always talks about how De La Hoya had a weird looking left hook and I think I know what he means. His hook is very short and quick and he doesn't seem to twist his body all the way into it. It's almost as if he's punching at the target and not through it, and yet he's so heavy handed with his left hand he still manages to hurt everyone he catches with that hook.

the punch against mayorga defied logic, Hoya looks relativley off balance and then bang a lightening fast hook has landed sharp and crisp... just wow

I think they have referred to it as a hybrid Lefthook. Because often times he throws it from the hip.

Lefthook with a touch of uppercut.

I don't care for that punch...The one that he knocked Vargas down with was a good one.
