Marquez has already said he is going to stay at 135lbs. So he is not giving up his WBA and WBO Belts.

So he needs to get Mitchell in for the WBA or IBF titles because he aint going near Valero or Marquez.

Thats end of the year and not heard marquez had made his mind up. all i know is he wants the may 1st date and katsidis has to be his next fight or he vacates and katsidis gets the wbo belt for which mitchell would be 1st defense. Y would marquez fight katsidis when theres bigger money fights eg hatton out there?? For mitchell, hell he aint even rated by the ibf/wba atm and ur right warren wont put him in with marquez or valero!

 

I am posative i read an article where he was going to fight Katsidis or Juan Diaz re-match. Either way Katsidis is with GBP so they can sort out a deal.

He is still ranked at super feather by the IBF so could go in there rankings, and getting a fighter ranked is not a problem.

true, in the world of boxing anythings possible. His trainer Jimmy tibbs dont want him fighting at super-feather coz he was proper draining himself. If marquez fights diaz the belts vacant and my prediction of mitchell-katsidis for the WBO belt stands. MARQUEZ HAS TO FIGHT KATSIDIS NEXT OR HE VACATES THE WBO BELT!! AAAAAHH!! ok im done... sorry bout that freak out... Either way kev's fight on the 13th will be another momentum killer for 1 of britains most talented fighters

 

I don't see what's so wrong with giving him a stay-busy opponent while he's waiting on his mandatory. Eventually he'll get Katsidis or Marquez, either of which would be a big fight, so no need to risk losing that status by putting him in with someone who could beat him.

There's probably an 80% chance Marquez and Katsidis will face each other in May, and Mitchell will be the mandatory for the winner.
