Lewis was also unfairly labeled as glass chin, dirty fighter and a crap commentator. I call bull**** on all counts. Everybody knows the man had/has no flaws.

Winky Wright and Pernell Whitaker for me. So many people brand those two defensive and boring, which constantly amazes me considering the amount of punches both guys throw.

    Bernard Hopkins.

And is it true that at the time he fought, people labeled Charley Burley to be boring?

If people were judging only off the Billy Smith fight (his only bout recorded), I can see why.

To play devil's advocate, Hopkins' spends an inordinate amount of time not fighting in the ring. He risks very little, spoils, holds, cheats, whines... It's not so much boring as it is not fighting. If you want to label the above as "boxing" you are entitled to do so but I always feel he is avoiding boxing far too often. And I am not speaking about the things he does very well, counter punching, moving his opponent with footwork, ring generalship, picking off punches... those things are brilliant.

I think it was the fact it was those 2 in a row, Hatton and Mosley were entertaining, especially for a fan watching them live. I goto say my gf thought the JMM fight was like watching paint dry though

After the age of 35 Hopkins has spent less time fighting, before that age he'd fight for the full round and be a much more exciting fighter

People that think Hopkins and Toney have great stamina are wrong, they are great at pacing themselves, but don't have great stamina

Yeah, maybe Hopkins/Jones II was boring, but not prime Hopkins.

Mayweather is boring IMO. He has some exciting performances when an opponent pressures him but otherwise it's just the same old pot-shot and hold routine on repeat, often coupled with low workrate, zero killer instinct and lack of depth to his game.

    Lewis could be thoroughly yawn-worthy.

Griffith I find probably the worst fighter to watch in history. Monzon isn't far behind either.

You need to watch more Griffith.

What fights of Griffith's do people find very boring?

I never found Ezzard Charles boring to watch, but he didnt do it for the contemporary fight fans as heavyweight champion.

Benvenuti, Monzon, Napoles, apart from the parts where he was getting a shellacking. The Paret fights were alright.
