That is a ridiculous thing to say, like Groves will just rollover. People get too excited about the last thing they remember. Beating Smith has nothing to with beating Groves.

 

It's still a big difference - a 20 year old vs a 24 year old. at their respective peaks, it wasn't a contest.

 

Groves isn't on Degales level mate. Are you going to be the next avidlemon?

De Gale has beaten better opposition with ease. Groves was damn close to getting stopped last time out against someone Smigga would have beaten imo.

I stand by my point, there is nothing to suggest Groves has De Gales number. There is plenty of evidence to the contrary.

 

No, the point I'm making is that there is no real basis to assess levels yet. DeGale beat Smith, as expected and in the manner expected. Seems a bit daft to be ejaculating over it, really.

And Elvis, there's no evidence for either side. DeGale beat a man he was meant to beat. All there is to it. Groves had a harder time than expected against Anderson, but came through it. DeGale's a little older, a little more mature, but Smith was made to order for a fast-handed, mobile fighter like Chunky.

Groves, alternately, was facing a biggest stylistic problem in Anderson.

It's not just about levels here, it's about styles. I see no evidence to pick one over the other yet.

 

So why did you say Groves will beat him.

 

Cause I think he will, but it's not based on anything more than my instincts. But I'm not one of the people talking about levels when there's no true indication of their levels just yet.

 

I guess I'll just have to disagree. I think there is enough to show us De Gale is a better fighter, just my opinion.

I also think Cleverly has shown himself to be better than Bellew also.

DeGale would have beaten the crap out of Sutherland in the pros. You only have to see Sutherland hit by jabs off journeymen to know that. DeGale would have messed him up bad with the speed and variety he has offensively.

Sutherland would have been a fine pro himself mind, would have got to the world stage and challenged for a title at least.
