The TIP of the iceberg. He outrapped FMJ and Tyson, and inspired the rap of RJJ, helped free Boggle with a rap concert. He also has released two full-length albums full of rock, blues, country...tremendous musician...one of the best I've ever heard. ...I was at the Free Boggle concert, the rhymes were potent.

There's a pic of him playing the bass in a fairly recent (maybe a couple of years old) edition of Ring magazine...I'll try to dig it up for you...

Charles' bass playing actually got good reviews in the New York Times back in the early 50's, so says an internet source.

ezz often sat in with jazz groups in cincinnati...and he was good. george russell, who was a pianist at a jazz club s in cincinnati ...and later became a famous (in the jazz world, anyway) arranger and composer wrote the song ezz-thetic dedicated to him.

i've heard from good sources (but not from him) that he also played the cello, but not in public...he was afraid it might make him appear to be "sissiefied"...
