ezz often sat in with jazz groups in cincinnati...and he was good. george russell, who was a pianist at a jazz club s in cincinnati ...and later became a famous (in the jazz world, anyway) arranger and composer wrote the song ezz-thetic dedicated to him. i've heard from good sources (but not from him) that he also played the cello, but not in public...he was afraid it might make him appear to be "sissiefied"...
