Re birth of tha check hook, which is indeed just a very well timed counter that can look very spectacular if you leave your opponent dead in your wake .. Ray Robinson was a master technician of that discipline ... Floyd was raised in boxing from the womb , he probably saw and heard that termanology sinse being in his stroller...

a check hook is simply catching a hook with your right hand and throwing a hook at the same time. nothing more nothing less. i know this for absolute sure. roger mayweather explains it in a pad video of his i have on dvd. thats all it is. like checking a kick in kickboxing.

It's a term used in the midwest you *****. Manny Stewerd used the term before Mayweather used it, so it wasn't invented by some ESPN commentator. If you have ever boxed before(which I have) you would know what it was. But you've been listening to commentator's who have never fought like you, so of course you wouldn't know what it was.
