Just been having a look through Boxrec & see the fight is no longer listed as a title fight, and no longer states the rounds it's over,

At a catch weight of 172... Hhhhm what's peoples thoughts on this, I think it's a lose lose for Smith now it's a non title fight.

Do well (like in AA fight) and people are not going to look at him as a voluntary defence, no more world shots

Get blown away, and he's been had off in a non title fight... Lose lose

172? Smith is a small SMW as it is. If Ward puts it on him it is over in 4.

I think doing well or as well as can be done against Ward will be a good thing for him, champions will take him as a voluntary because they can say he's been in big fights and done ok/good in them whilst knowing he probably isn't good enough to beat anyone at world level

Nah it was defo listed as a title fight , WBA super world Super mid title- 1000% sure they had it listed as such!

Nah I disagree, I think if he does ok others will see him as a dark horse, that there's too much risk..

can it even be a smw title fight at a catchweight within lhw limits? i know wba have bent over backwards in stretching their rules in order to accommodate ward, but this would be pushing it, surely?

Complete joke that Ward is allowed to fight at 172- I'm not sure what fighting Smith who isn't exactly huge at 168 achieves bar an easy win.

Does Ward want to move up to 175 after this fight? If so, why?

    It was always catchweight non-title.

The weird thing is that the WBA stripped Froch recently for being inactive, and at the same time were giving Ward a pass for being even more inactive and fighting his next fight at 172.
Well actually it would be weirder if the WBA made sense for once.

You'd have a point if it wasn't for the fact that Froch has clearly sucked a rematch with Ward.

hey, don't forget mandating the fight then disappearing purse bids because ward really didn't fancy an awayday at the city ground!

Why shouldn't he be allowed to fight at 172? Why is it a complete joke?
