What are peoples thoughts on stability exercises for the core? E.g every so often i might do push ups on those twisty handle things (technical name) with my feet on a med ball or swiss ball. But to be honest i dont know enough about it apart from it feels great to do and difficult to balance and keep stable.

can you over do those sort of balancing and stability exercises? for example should push ups always be preformed like that do you believe?
