I still believe Mayweather is # 1 pound for pound from his accomplishments ! But sooner or later, He will have to do more to secure that spot if he desires to stay there....

Another De La Hoya fight does nothing for him at this stage and if Pacquiao can win the WBC belt at 135 and somehow upset Hatton at 140....Mayweather will have to face Cotto and beat him convincingly in order to gain back his # 1 spot at that point !!

What made Ali so special as an ATG, its the guts he showed to consistently fight guys like Frazier, Liston and Foreman, etc....throughout his entire career, not just a few years ?

Once again, on talent alone...Mayweather will stay there at # 1 until a new generation whiz kid comes along......but this pound for pound ranking is about accomplishments in the ring and the type of opposition faced to achieve these accomplishments !!!

i've said it time and time again. anybody who thinks pac should be ahead of pbf after that performance should be shot

the pacfanatics said that if pac demolishes jmm, then he should earn than top spot, which was debatable. but now that there clearly was no demolishing that took place. saying that pac should be #1 is just downright stupid

    Exactly.

I felt JMM edged Pac which means that manny has dropped a couple of spots in my p4p list

i disagree wtih you latter statement, i fell he has done enough to keep his spot, two or three in p4p rankings. i dont understand why a fighter should drop a couple of spots by winning. unless there was someone who was below him in the standings who won a bigger fight.

Still Mayweather even he is boring to watch.....Marquez is so lucky not to get hit with 2 to 3 combos of Manny only one lucky punch that nailed him (3rd Round)....I thought its over.....

Dude the thing about Floyd is the say thing that you get with who ever is the guy on top in boxing.

Who ever he fights is a bum, and whoever he doesnt fight is the one that could have beat him. Im have seen this pattern repeated in boxing for 25 years. Before every fight People are saying..Oh now Floyds going to get now he is fighting a guy that can beat him...Then after the fight..Its oh that guy was a bum or he was too small and old. Well those very things could be and have been said about Pac's opponents. The difference between the two is Floyd Actually wins his fights.
