Any boxers that use SWIMMINg as their main form of conditioning/weight loss?

Due to injuries I had to stop running and took up swimming. Doing laps for an hour makes gravity hard to deal with when you first come out of the pool. Everything is tired and heavy. I get really good sleep now on the days I swim.

Use to use water a lot, for running when my fighters had leg problems. But make sure while running in water, the water is up to your chin, otherwise it causes neck problems.

If you can swim properly with correct form and technique it's awesome. If you are going to flap around like some lame duck then don't even bother.

I did when i fought (amateur), had to. Did 4 times a week, scedule was depending on where i was in training. Four major schedules:
1: 30 min "medium pace" crawl Off season... first coupla weeks in early season
2: 100 meter "high pace" * 5, 3 min rest Pickup period, 3-6 weeks. Keepin one or two days a week of sched "1"
    3: 50 meter "max" * 6 - 8, 2 min rest "Hard..."
    4: 25 meter "max" * 6 - 8, 30 sek to 1 min rest "HARDER....."
This was like 25 yrs ago... and i got this from a competing swimmer that helped me out.
