Thank goodness he doesn't take any advice from you then. The man just secured a nice payday for him and his family.

I hope he fights Garcias and knocks him out.

Since I rate Briedis so highly, I thought he did a wonderful job, and I think he decided to trade more, to truly test himself, I think he wanted to see just how good his chin truly is, after all, he's going to have to take on either Gassiev or Dorticos, and if your chin is a liability, those two can exploit it. Also, if he moves to HW, he'll need a solid on. Briedis hits just hard enough to answer that question, without risking a horrific KO loss.

Also, I think to a point, Briedis forced him to fight that way, he's not a guy you can easily just outbox off the backfoot.

Hey, that's something we can agree on! At least the KOing Garcia part, but I doubt that'll happen, although if it does, I'll root for him again. Hell I'm rooting for Rios to KO Garcia. But I sadly don't think either of them have what it takes to beat even Danny at this point.

Fair point, but Briedis looked like he was out of gas even starting from the 4th. I'd like to have Usyk finish the job this fight. I think he could have too, but wounded tigers are dangerous and I wouldn't like to have seen Usyk get ko'd for risking it.

Gassiev is a real dog in the fight vs Usyk though. Gassiev is so good.

Every fighter runs that risk regardless of what stage they are in. And most fighters know when to call it quits as Im sure Matthysse does too.

Matthysse proved he's not worthless as a fighter you POS. He may not be prime, but no one better take him lightly.

Dude if you watched the fight you can see Lucas is no longer "The Machine". He is actually lucky the welterweight division is pretty weak beyond the top 4 or 5 but I don't want to see him in there against Spence, Thurman, Crawford, or Porter. Maybe he does fight Garcia again for one last payday (retirement fund) and calls it a career.

His performance tonight was god awful, he is lucky Kiram apparently has no chin or he might have lost a decision.

I think DG has seen his best days, may be fresher than LM but definitely has lost a step or two.

Lets hope for the rematch. Pos

I'm really pleased for Lucas he's had a great career, more than his fair share of bad luck, and he's a road warrior and certified badass who has provided us with a lot of entertainment and power punching highlight action and finishes, and he's thoroughly deserving of the distinction of being a world champion. To be honest, it couldn't have happened to a nicer guy. I would like to see him hang his gloves up now, though, or failing that at least head back down to 140.

They took kiram to the hospital after the fight. Lucas didnt look good at all, but for those saying it was a dive, you dont know **** about boxing. The first jab was perfectly placed and stunned him right away and the right hand grazed him but was able to slam his head all over the place. We all know Lucas has amazing power, dont take credit away from a very good fighter who went through a lot to win a title

I think Swift hasn't lost a step at all. What makes you think that?

I made a poorly worded comment, get over it. Matthysse needs to retire, he looked like ****, end of story.

What Drenlou said.:deal: Danny looked good against Thurman, the best WW there is, Matthysse looked horrid against a tin can crusher from Thailand, and Rios looked average against ****ing Aaron Herrera, which is not a good sign. Huge difference.

IT is true, Hussein almost knocked Pacquiao out with a jab in their fight. Pacquiao was literally cross eyed!!
