I think the #1 can realistically only come down to Robinson, Greb, Langford, Armstrong probably in that order with the closest being Charles, Duran, Benny Leonard probably in that order.

The rest would probably round off my personal opinion of the 20 best/greatest boxers but none have a GOAT claim.

    Pep
    Jofre
    Gans
    Walker
    Fitzsimmons
    Ali
    Louis
    Tunney
    Moore
    Wilde
    Ross
    Canzoneri
    Ray Leonard

Phenomenal all-round fighter, was always consistently ranked high (mostly as champion) general consensus as #1 at Bantamweight (its a shame these divisions are so overlooked because of a competitive lack of “hall of fame” names) and then came back at the age of 37 to win the lineal title at Featherweight vs. an awesome champion who had big advantages in size and age. One of the most dominant, consistent and impressive fighters in history.

I can't believe that I'm the first one to mention Fitzsimmons. Unless you don't rank 1890s era, he's definitely ome of the best candidates here. His accomplishements are unmatched by any fighter even 100 years later.

Didn't Roy Jones Jr match his accomplishments?

Fitzsimmons was unquestionably the best HW fighter in the world at one point. Not only he beat former champion Corbett, but he also beat the best available competition - Maher, Choynski and later Sharkey and Ruhlin.

Roy did nothing impressive at HW tovbe honest. Ruiz win wouldn't be in top 5 Fitz HW wins.

For me the best bantam ever, and without a real flaw in his style.

I nearly put Fitz in but his middleweight comp was not deep, and his lhvy opposition was the same. Best achievements?
