Kovalev (with McGirt) right now looks like more of a threat to Canelo than GGG

GGG already sparked prime Kov out in the gym with 16oz gloves on and when I say sparked I do mean as in sparked out cold from a head shot. The it was a body shot tale that has been put out there is exactly that - a tale. I told you all this years ago and I've always been a bigger fan of Kovalev than I am a GGG fan albeit I'm a big fan of both.

Put some money on Kovalev, then. If you feel uncomfortable doing that, don't be shocked.

Unfortunately that just reinforces just was a great fighter that GGG must have been back then and what a shame he never had the high profile opponents to have allowed him to showcase how formidable he was then. Also sadly shows how much older and far from his best he has fallen since from that earlier time.

Yes and there's a reason why so many who'd witnessed first hand what he'd done in the gym or had actually traded leather with him in sparring or in a real fight were waxing lyrical about him and his power.

Kovalev arguably outboxed Andre Ward in their first fight no sh1t Kovalev is a bigger threat than GGG he always has been.

 Clenelo got outlanded, was made to miss, and got hit by the heavier shots. There's a reason why most people had GGG winning #2.

Kovalev might be tougher because he is taller, bigger and has greater reach than GGG. But mentally he ain't nothing like Golovkin. GGG is an animal in the ring, and even those who had him loosing against Canelo the second time or against Derevyanchenko, must admit the guy doesn't fold and always finishes strong. With Kovalev there is a question mark. I've seen both Canelo and SD hit Golovkin low, he never even winced, complained to the referee and most importantly he didn't quit. And Kov, who I had winning the first Ward fight, kind of quit in the rematch.

EDIT: I favor mentally strong fighters, therefore I see Canelo as the winner in this one. But it might be very tough for him the first few rounds.
