Gotcha...seems like this journeyman Rankin actually is able to crack a bit, short of the level where he stepped up and lost. 16 of 21 victories (76%) by stoppage. And most of these hyped up Colombian bangers typically have defense that's...unpolished to say the least.

Maybe we get a fun upset.

Nadim Salloum vs. William Townsel, 8 rounds @ super middleweight

 

I was surprised as well, when I tuned in it was already round 4

 

Salloum looks as though he's easily the best Lebanese boxer to come along in 72 years (when Sarkis Moussa got kayoed in the first round of the 1952 Olympics) - for what that's worth.

 

Whole goddamn reason I made the RBR and missed it.

 

Not sure how well Salloum's philly shell combined with slow and languid upper body defense is going to fare stepping up - assuming he can even get by Townsel here, which is a hard maybe with how many flush southpaw jabs on the body he's taking and how they pop his mouth open.

 

Salloum has some skills but he has no real power and looks poorly conditioned fighting only 1 minute per round. Townsel has been outlanding him clearly so far.
