The whole point of it being bad is Klitschko used to clinch to try to make sure he’s never in an actual fight throughout the whole match. He wants to punch and grab his way to dominant victory.

Although Ali clinched a lot he also traded a lot, let his hands go much more and embraced the times he had to exchange.

    Yes

But Klitscko was clinching and pushing much smaller men

and he was a useless ugly robot

Ali had poise and was a titan in the ring. A total badass.

Ali clinching? apparently you never seen the ali vs Frazier fights and that was all Ali doing the holding. At least in the Klitschko Povetkin both were initiating clinches.

"Useless Ugly Robot" was an epic shot.

I may start using it as my Username on other boards.

Of course he was. So was Borenard Hopkins. Except when they clinched it was called ‘crafty’ and ‘tricky’ etc.

Yes, of course I've seen Ali Frazier. It's still watchable and recognisable as a boxing match, not whatever the hell Wlad vs Povetkin was.

Wlad wasn't just clinching Povetkin, he was trying to wrestle him and damage him by pressing all his weight on his back. And it was nearly unwatchable.

    Hallo Mr Luis Fernando.

Who is the current undisputed HW champion, what does he weigh, and what weightclass did he formerly compete at?

Ali, Holmes, and Lewis set the standard for clinching. When Ali was tired or the least bit hurt he would literally shove the ref trying to break them aside and pull the opponent back into the clinch.

Aside from the size Foreman was a far better finishe than Wlad, Frazier was small but offensively far superior to anybody Wlad beat during the worst era in heavyweight history.

Holmes didn't clinch as much as the two others tbh

Wlad has more knockouts and a higher knockout rate then Foreman as well as being able to knockout larger foes no reason to suggest Foreman is a better finisher or punches harder

For this thread YES! Ali clinched a lot especially in his best wins against Frazier and Foreman which many people ignore while criticizing Wlad for doing the same thing.

Both Ali and Wlad had certain A side advantages in general when they were world title contending. Not fair to call it out one way and not the other.

People loved to put on their rose tinted glasses when they talk about Ali.

Whether that is to do with his in ring performances or his life outside.
