I don’t even think he would have knocked out Manny Pacquiao on their Ill fated fight that never happened. he’s not gonna get in the boxing hall of fame lol
Or, real boxing fans who know their ****, who've been calling him overrated for the last decade and trying to warn posters not to buy into what PBC was selling, were proven to be absolutely correct. Harbinger indeed! Errol Spence Jr. Is Befuddled By Slick Southpaws and Speed-A Harbinger Of Things To Come? Should Errol Spence Jr's Recent Bizarre Blipped Out Lapses In Concentration, Be Of Greater Concern? What? Am I supposed to wowed by his SD gift against Porter? Or risk averse Danny who's never had genuinely impressive win at WW? Or a tenderized Kell Brook, who had one decent win against Porter coming into their fight, and no decent wins for the remainder of his career. Or how about Ugas who was retired by one of the worst WW champion of the last decade in Barrios?
I think he's a good fighter. It's just crazy how he was made to be this elite guy that had almost a 50% chance of beating Crawford. Meanwhile guys with similar styles and attributes like Tim Tszyu and Vergil Ortiz were always seen as one dimensional sluggers that would get exposed at the elite level. And oftentimes, it was the same people that would have these contradicting views.
Classic mindless dickriding fanboy apologist ****wit posts from you, one of the P4P ****tiest posters this site has ever seen. No, the shoe doesn't fit. His career stands as a testament to everything the people criticizing him warned about. His best non-controversial or asterisked win was over a partially retired Danny Garcia showing up to collect a paycheck. He's not an all time great, nowhere near the best of his generation and his resume is the definition of underwhelming.
He did move his head though?? Like, watch any of his fights and he moves his head quite well even if he more-so relies on his guard. He was also a pretty big puncher, saying he had average power is ridiculous. He was always more of a workman-like fighter than a "wow, look at his crazy athleticism" kind of a fighter but that doesn't mean he wasn't good. He's special because he unified three world titles in a deep 147 division over the better part of a decade. Survived two car crashes and still managed to win world title fights. Just because he lacks a signature win doesn't mean his wins weren't good. Brook was still a big threat at the weight, Porter is like the 4th or 5th best welter of that era, Danny Garcia was in pretty good form, Ugas was coming off a career best win, Lamont Peterson was a very crafty fighter and he got totally shut-down, and Algieri still had a fair bit of gas in the tank before he got bulldozed. Like, yeah, it's not some insane SRL-esque run, but he beat capable, quality world-level operators and did so in pretty dominant fashion.
Spence never even came close to losing a fight until he fought the best fighter of his generation. He does not owe this forum an apology for not being a charismatic Ukrainian.
Because he was. He was an Olympian. He was a world champ. He beat a lot of champions from multiple divisions. He was a very good fighter. Then he got in a high-speed car crash, and was thrown out of the car. Crashes do damage to a person. A crash followed by being launched out of the car do damage to a person. The damage to his head was significant. That was well documented. And now he's done. No point in being a dick about it.
Clearly you've never seen the Porter fight and of course you rarely come close to losing a match, when everyone you fight is shot and past it. You can't make it through a thread without obsessing about Ukrainians can you? ****ing weirdo.
It’s funny, most of these people saying Spence stinks were picking him to run through Crawford and having him on their Pound for Pound lists back then. How times change. Be consistent. Like me. Benavidez could KO Usyk but guess what, he will still be a chinny big nippled fairy. Consistency.
Technical question: How come the range is so small? 7.2 to 7.8 punches between great defense and mediocre defense? That sounds ridiculous. I do get that they are averages, but I would have expected many punches between those levels. I mean with joshua it could be explained by him being on the floor so much of the time, that there is less time to land punches :-D
Funny how the thread was created after he lost to Tszyu. Not before it. The guys a Tszyu hater and can't handle the fact that Tszyu beat him. He's trying to discredit tszyu.
Excellent question. It probably varies by round with some of these guys, which evens everything out, and gives some misleading averages. Someone like AJ might get mangled one round, get battered from one side of the ring to the other, while the next he avoids getting touched once and wins by KO like last week. Whereas guys like Usyk, Haney and Stevenson are most likely fairly consistent.
