    that was not what i saw....

    i saw kelly pavlik unloading with punches and taylor was hurt, it looked like he was trying to go down on a knee so he could get a count but pavlik didn't let him go down, by the time taylor was able to go down, the fight got stopped.

    Go back and watch the tape before you make a thread like this.
    Taylor was ****ing out of it, in no way was he able to get up from that finish.

    He was punching him in that general direction anyway wasn't he????

    It seems as if you are watching this with rose tinted specs or something!

    He was crumpled in a heap on the canvas, tired, battered and unable to continue. I suggest you watch the fight again. Taylor was going down as Smoger jumped in and there were no complaints.

    If he had the wherewital to take a knee then he probably would have had it in him to protest.

    Give it up mate. :nut

    you know i admit at first i thought the same thing. but in the replay you can clearly see that he went kinda limp.

    Sure, I supposed Smoger could have allowed Pavlik to continue smashing Taylor's head in, but what for?

    My thing is If Smoger can count for Pavlik....why not Taylor who is the CHAMP.

    If Taylor couldn't get up then fine....but at least count. If Smoger didn't count for Pavlik...we would be reading different headlines thsi morning!!!!

    What's fare is fare!!!

    I looked like Pavlik had Taylor pinned in the corner with no room to fall or take a knee, so if Smoger had not stepped in, Taylor probably would have sustained a serious injury. JMHO

    Pavlik went down. The referee has to administer an 8 count. Taylor was trapped on the ropes being hammered and not going down, the only option he had was to jump in. So was the Corrales-Castillo stoppage bull**** too? Or Mercer-Morrison?

    Given him a count when he was sloched over? Smoger did the right thing - we don't need anybody to get seriously hurt.
