It don't work like that! Inactivity actually creates disinterest. Contraversy and the classic good guy vs the classic bad guy is what creates interest thus you have the Mayweather Persona. To sell a mega the fight it takes main stream news media attention and a story to tell. The story to tell has been about the non-fight Pacquiao vs Mayweather which Mayweather is using to keep himself in the news. Expect him to continue using it to get the word out on his fight with Ortiz.

Floyd hasn't sold less than 1.1 million, since he fought De la Hoya, nearly 5 years ago. Nobody thought Marquez would sell very well. Doing 1.2 for that was amazing at the time. I just think Floyd has at least a million dedicated PPV fans, who will always buy his stuff. Plus, it's a great fight. Plus, Floyd hasn't boxed in a while. I'd say they will be dissapointed, if it doesn't do over 1.2 million
