Guerrero isn't close to B+. Guy went life and death against Kamegai who Johan Perez completely shut-out. He then goes life and death (could be argued that he lost) against Aron Martinez who was coming off a 14 month lay off.
PBC has been great so far, plenty of good match ups and free! Don't understand why anyone wouldn't like it. Can't fault the judging either with away fighters getting the nod ahead of Haymon fighters when deserved. Long may it continue, Haymon knows his master plan won't work with mismatch fights.
you got some anger management issues dude, you sure you a boxing fan cause free competitive fights on network television seems to anger you
Huh? They just pocketed millions from Mayweather-Pacquiao fight PBC is only as good as Haymon's pool of fighters, so it's a hit or miss while HBO is not a promoter and they are shopping for the best fights to televise.
i have really enjoyed these pbc fights but i do think al haymon has been picking semi easy fights but they have not burned out the way he wanted. They are better matches than the ones i have watched on Hearns card except for the ppv. They have also been more competitive than the recently HBO main fights as they have been low rounds knockouts,
Waddell&Reed, the investment firm bankrolling this Haymon experiment has announced that Haymon has spent 143 million dollars to date with no end in sight.Haymon papers the arenas and still only had about 1000 fans at the Stub Hub yesterday,It is a total disaster with no end game in sight.I pity anyone who has invested in this project.:-(
as i live in the uk, how does HBO boxing work? Does a customer pay the monthly hbo subscription fee or do they pay a one off ppv depending on the card they want to watch
You pay monthly for HBO service/channels on top of your cable bill and get all the non PPV cards. But I believe anyone can order PPV, HBO subs and non-subs.
Most aren't, none of the GGG or Kovalev cards were PPV, Cotto-Geale was not a PPV but Cotto-Martinez was.
The Guerrero fight did turn out to be a pretty good fight, especially considering that it was meant to be a confidence builder for Guerrero.
All the fights were competitive. And the card drew about a million and a half (or more) viewers. I don't know if Cotto-Geale is going to hit that ... and Cotto/Geale got paid a lot more for their fight. And HBO only showed one fight. The PBC is doing fine.
Look at the difference in the arena. There were like 20 people at Guerrero's fight compared to Cotto who completely packed it. I'm looking at it from a realistic point of view. These guys were brought in to up Haymon's roster. You don't bring out Vic Darchinyan from the graveyard to have a competitive fight with one of your champions. Haymon is pulling out his hair because these guys are looking awful against tune-ups. Everyone here is stupidly thinking they were meant to be competitive fights is a laugh. Just guys trying lick Haymon's a$$ is all. It's like saying Garcia was supposed to struggle with Herrera. Haymon wanted Garcia/Salka in PR, not Garcia getting a gift.
