Brother can you spare a dime…

Thurman is a washed up bum looking for an undeserved payday. He hasn’t looked good in a very long time and doesn’t deserve a shot against any top fighter. Bud sparks any version of Thurman and possibly kills the washed up ghost of Thurman. He doesn’t need that on his conscience.

Plus Crawford is 36 soon and moving up to better opponents and more belts. Thurman has nothing to offer. He has no straps, no reputation, no fan base, just a big mouth and nothing to back it up. Pass.

He offers a lot. Name me a fighter at 147 that's a bigger draw, a bigger name and a bigger fight for Bud than Thurman? If Bud is going to defend his Undisputed Welterweight titles then Thurman is the biggest fight he can possibly make. And he's also stylistically difficult for Bud. He's not flat footed. He can move, Spence was tailor made for Bud, came right at him, gave him no head movement. On the contrary, Keith is all wrong for Bud. And for those who say but he lost to 40 year old Pacquiao. First of all that was a very close split decision, second of all many people thought Pacquiao at that age could beat Bud if they fought. It's a very competitive fight. Thurman is definitely not washed up. He's younger than Bud. He'll get up for a fight with Crawford, it would be a major event.

That's it, he's completely irrelevant at this point. Put together some wins over top 5 guys and then we'll see.

Thurman is nobody's tune up. He's undefeated outside of a very controversial split decision loss to Paquiao.

How 'bout Past Time?? That man is old as yoda now and full of ring rust. Retire already, knowing that a 40-something year old man beat you down like a dog.

Thurman beat Prime Shawn Porter and Prime Danny Garcia, not the leftovers TC beat. Tuneups don't beat Shawn Porter in his prime or give Danny Garcia his first defeat in what was a massive fight at the time.

I think Ennis would do comparable numbers to a Thurman fight. That is a more appealing fight than Thurman.

No, Ennis is a young up and coming prospect. Ennis is a good young fighter but Keith Thurman is Bud's rival and contemporary. Thurman is battle tested, he done proved himself in big fights. Even in the Pacquiao loss, he was having his way with Pacquiao for most of that fight, that fight pretty much ended Pac's career. Pac-Man was lucky to get the decision over Thurman. Thurman is the biggest fight for Bud at WW hands down. Because Thurman has been so inactive Bud will overlook him. And Bud's barely been more active than Thurman has been.

close decision or not. . . that was prime Thurman and he lost to an old af version of Manny. I wouldn't mind seeing Thurman vs Crawford though tbh. If anything, just to see Thurman get beat up and put into retirement for good. Then we wont have to hear him running around anymore demanding fights he dont deserve

Thurman made himself irrelevant with his own activity and weed smoking
