no sues, vernon wells 1 wont b the greatest player, b/c when its all said and done it will be a man by the name of Alex Rodriguez lol.
Start to late lol. Seems like Boston lost again last night
all i go2 say is 2.5 games back now. Dont lose again 2nite b/c it will b 1.5 games. And if we somehow do tie we will get the division due to a tie breaker. So ya team better wake up, losing to the Toronto at a critical time like this :huh :-( . Not good for business.
Yanks will win the division trust

That part actually made me laugh, Im not gonna lie....:rofl

Definately right tho about the Sox and Yanks playing each other. If a Yankees fan or a Sox fan says bring on the other one....they are lying or speaking out of loyalty. These two could play 100 times and it would go 51/49 (51 for Boston...:D ). They just know each other too well, and lets be honest, they are built to beat the other one.

    But again....GO TIGERS!!!

    :happy

Trust me from someone who watches most Toronto games played at Fenway, Wells hits like 900 there, no joke. Everytime he plays us, he torches us. Sucks....

But Arod is a beast....cant wait till he is playing third base for the Red Sox next season (Schilling, Clement, Lowell, Tavares...and probably Crisp all gone next season...saving 34 million, and we have rookies to step in for everyone but Lowell....:think ).

    :thumbsup

nah, Boston cant afford that salary, he will be right back in NY next year again. He is in a bit of a slump right now, he is 2 for his last 24, not really feeling that, but hopefully he breaks out come playoff time, and its down to 1.5 games now sues. Another L in toronto 2nite, and we beat the orioles. WHats going on in B town. That division crown is in reach for us right now.:deal

Ahhh, but we most definately can afford it. This may be one of the few times in history I can remember the Sox ACTUALLY being able to win a bidding war with the Yanks.

Schilling - 11m - Will be replaced by Bucholz on a rookie contract (the rookie who pitched the nono this year).
Crisp - 3.5m - Will be replaced by Elsbury on a rookie contract (next years roy...mark my words...5 years, he is the best CF in baseball)
Tavares - 6m - Will be replaced by Lester, still on a rookie contract (the kid came back from being diagnosed with cancer last year and has looked good.....AND ISNT EVEN FULLY BACK YET!!!)
Clement - 7.5m - Will be replaced by......WHO CARES...he hasnt pitched for us in two years and has just been eating cap space!

Thats 27m off this years books for next year...minus the rookie contracts....we will say 25m.

NOW, ya cant forget the big one.

Lowell - 9m - Will be replaced by Arod.

So we could offer Arod 34m for next season and STILL have the same payroll we do this season.

And yes, I am getting a little worried about the division crown. But in the long run, we are still a virtual lock for the playoffs...and we won in 04 from the wild card....so we will see how it plays out.

O'boy.... I smell a division lead slipping away. It's the beginning of another 86 years. Did you think when you guys were sitting on a 14 1/2 game lead you would need to worry us breathing down your neck? Here we go... The Evil Empire Strikes Back!!

Replace Schilling? he is the best pitcher you got, well no he is the 2nd after Beckett. You dudes will not be gettin rid of him unless he retires. That kid that pitched the no hitter, had one good game and it was that one. DIdnt his next outting he got ruffed up?
34million for next season 4 A-Rod I dont even remember how much he is gettin paid a yr. But if he leaves the Yanks best believe you guys will e pickin up the rest of that contract, and he will probably ask for more just for comin to boston.

Schilling is getting on in years and wants a multi year deal (remember he said that if we didnt sign him in preseason, he was gone after the season). And dont forget he missed a HUGE chunk of this season due to nagging injuries and age (so to say). Bucholz was one of the top pitching prospects in the minors (he was ALSO the one who pitched a 1 hitter vs Roger during his time in the minors getting ready for the majors again...). He is 3-1 and his only bad showing so far was his last one (coming in in relief).

With DiceK getting another year under his belt, Schilling getting another under his (along with some more pounds  ...dont get me wrong, we ALL love Schill here, but everyone is expecting him to leave), I wouldnt expect Curt to be anywhere near the ace of the staff next season. His loss will be NEAR seamless, tho will probably hurt from a leadership standpoint....but what can ya do.

Now as far as the Arod thing. He has a clause in his contract that allows him to opt out at the end of the season....making him a unrestricted free agent. And lets be serious, there are maybe 4 teams who COULD realistically go for him...Yanks, Sox, Cubs and Angels (maaaybe the Dodgers, but I doubt it). And of those teams, with the free agents who are leaving, the Red Sox will EASILY have the most money to spend (as I outlined before).

And 86 more years.....coooooome on guys. We won the series from the WC in 04. PLUS, we still have the lead. Its baseball, ya never know whats gonna happen from day to day....I mean, I remember there was this team in the playoffs a few years back (forgot which one :think )...well, they were down 0-3 facing elimination, no team had EVER come back from 0-3....And LO AND BEHOLD, 4 games later, they had done the impossible. Damn I wish I remembered what teams were involved in that....

    :huh

Point is, in baseball (more than ANY sport), ya just NEVER know.

Ha you think your funny lol. Ok we shall see. 1.5 games back now. Better start winning Sues or that division crwon will be ours.
A-Rod not goin anywhere he has the best chance to win right wher he is at. He would b foolish to become a red sox. He would never be able 2 play IN NY again. NY faithful would boooo him till they lost their vocies evrytime he comes here

Chamberlain is scary (as is Bucholz)...but watch out...Rivera is an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season.
