Its a "strong" era. But I think "golden" is going a tad far.. Andre Ward has done nothing at 175 yet, and has only made perhaps 2 appearances in the past 3 years. A superb fighter at super middleweight, and possibly ATG material in that class, but not someone we should seriously be rating at light heavy or at least at the moment. The top two guys are 33 and 38 years of age and seemingly not interested in facing each other ( or at least Stevenson isn't. ) The other men you mentioned have a lot of talent but are still question marks... Again, there are signs of life in today's light heavy class, but hardly a golden era.

So if this is a golden era...what has been the biggest fight of the era? What great fights have there been?

Let's get real...it is FAR from a golden era. I like Beterbiev a lot, but he is still inexperienced as a pro and not a spring chicken. Dunno the other guys you mentioned, but using words like 'will be' suggests to me that they have a way to go yet.

Sorry, but golden era it's not. Has the boring Ward even had a fight at the weight yet?

He's had ONE, but it was against a fellow ex-super middle..And not a very good one...so essentially no..

In regards to 1982, that was a great era in the Lt. Heavy division. So many fighters that never held a title that could have even a few years later with addition of the IBF & WBO belts and Sp. Middle divisions. Or possibly could have anyway.
