Do you realize the kind of punishment that Douglass, Holyfield, and Lewis inflicted on Tyson? Compare that to what James Toney dished out on Holyfield. Tyson would've taken that **** and smiled.
Tyson had a good chin, he was weak mentally in some of his later matches. Tyson took "The Smash" Ruddicks signature punch, and kept on fighting. Ruddick was said to be the most powerful Heavyweight at the time, he took shots well and was only really knocked out against Buster and Lewis, and it was a accumulation of punches, not just one punch like what happend to Lewis when he was knocked out both times.
I don't think he was even knocked out against Lewis, he'd just had the crap beaten out of him and chose not to get up. Tyson's only true KO's were against Douglas and the TKO against Holy in my opinion. He didn't know where he was in both of those but the other losses he just seemed to say '**** it' and gave up.

Look at what it took to KO him. You dont beat Tyson by outboxing him, you win by outboxing, outfighting and outmanuvering him. Anything short of that then expect a minor concussion or a bruised rib. Tyson had the better chin shot for shot IMO. 1987 version of Tyson would have beaten the 1990 version of Holyfield. In 1996 Tyson was still a very formidable fighter but his timing was off and his speed was starting to go. He never adjusted to compensate for age whereas Holyfield adjusted. At the top of thier games I'd pick Tyson by late stoppage. Holyfield would come to fight and he would meet his match. Back then Evander had a chip on his shoulder; He wanted respect and he fought that way and it cost him his first fight against Riddick Bowe. I believe that his gung ho attitude would cost him against Tyson.

I also believe that Tyson under Rooney still had fear of his opponents which fired him up and brought out the true fighter in the man, whereas once he left jail King fed him bums and he believed his own bull**** and complacency set in - especially against Holyfield in both fights. We also have the theories about steroids that kicked in around this time as Tyson was rumoured to be around 180 lbs when he left jail....
You might be right about Lewis', he was hit with one hell of a punch and Lewis just pushed him to the canvas. Tyson supposedly had a concussion early in the fight against Holyfield from a headbutt, either way he wasnt counted out in the fight, the ref stopped it because Tyson was taking punch after punch without throwing back.

Watch the Lewis KO again when you get chance - Tyson actually lifts his head early in the count but just lays back again as if to say '**** it I've had enough' Yes he was KO'd but it wasn't a chin thing it was an 'owned' thing if that makes sense. I think he did the same against Danny Williams, he could have got up easily but chose not to.
