Tyson by UD. Mercer would get off the occasional flurry, but Tyson would outwork him on the inside. This would probably go something like Tyson-Ruddock 2, with Mercer maybe doing slightly better. He had a more varied offense than Ruddock, and a better chin. This would have been fun to watch.
I just watched Mercer's fight with Francesco Damiani. Just the first round and the tko because I did not feel like watching 40 minurtes of a bout in which I already knew the result. It would be a great fight no doubt!
I'm going against the tide and picking Mercer. Tyson had slowed down and started to slug with opponents this is never a good idea with Mercer in the mood .the longer this fight goes the more it go's Rays way. Tyson linked to bully other fighters this wouldn't work on Mercer I think Mercer stops an exhausted and battered Tyson in the final round rounds.
I think Tyson wins a pretty comfortable UD. Can’t see Mercer getting stopped and he should win a few rounds. Just don’t see him beating Mike at all.
I think 91 Mike is still good enough to win a clear UD over Mercer. 96/97 would be more interesting, although Ray is nowhere close to Holyfields level other than toughness, chin and power.
