Froch-Kessler was no robbery Kessler - Total Thrown: 765, Total Connects: 147 (19%) Froch - Total Thrown: 546, Total Connects: 98 (18%) Source boxrec and Kessler gets credit for controlling the center of the ring and being in offensive more than his opponent
I never though I'd have to stand behind a frog, but here I am saying that it's stunning how people don't even mention Cintron-Williams. It's not only me, Kermit was clearly ahead on many many scorecards before the shocking end came, and the Punisher somehow got away with the decision. As a Martinez fan I can't honestly say Maravilla was robbed, but I thought Williams only won - and barely - one round vs. Kermit (one judge had Cintron ahead 4-0 and I cannot say that's a terrible card). Of the above mentioned fights, the Campillo robbery stands out the most, that was absolutely terrible, whereas suggesting Kessler-Froch was a robbery is, well, laughable. There was a clear edge in clean effective punches in favor of Kessler, I didn't even have it close.
Froch Kessler was a clear decision Mares Perez, well most people say Mares won, but only by 1-2 rounds - not a big robbery
A domestic fight in the UK, Bayyar vs Sexton. Bayyar dominated up until round 10 and outboxed Sexton, only for Sexton to cut Bayyar with a headbutt. Sexton won the next TWO rounds and got a draw to save his carrer. tough hardworking guys like Bayyar are robbed all the time just to give some shitty prospect a second chance.
Oh and can somebody please explain how Froch-Kessler was a robbery? It was a close fight, some people had Froch just about, some people had Kessler just about. I thought a robbery was when one guy has CLEARLY won and the other guy gets the nod? Anyway I dont even bloody recognise the other fights/fighters so I can offer no input lol.
Robberies happen quite a bit in England, generally when a journeyman beats a prospect but doesn't get the decision. Bayaar vs Sexton was one of those, Bayaar had at least six clear rounds, at least half the others were swing rounds before Sexton rallied. I'm reluctant to call some of the above fights robberies, Froch vs Kessler was close (closer than one of the judges had it anyway) - there is certainly a difference between a blatant rip off and a close fight going either way. Robbery - Martinez vs Cintron, Lewis vs Holyfield I. Close fights - Martinez vs Williams, Fury vs McDermott I, Froch vs Dirrell
I thought Sexton took the last 4 rounds when he started getting inside, but yeah I thought Bayaar won clearly enough. Some people felt it was a draw though.
The biggest British robbery IMO was Temao Dwyer vs George Watson. Dwyer seemed to have won 3 of the 5 rounds going into the last round, and then he dropped Watson in the last round. Looked like he was certain of a clear points victory, but lost by a bull**** decision.
