Nelson/Volkov is an interesting one... A few years ago Roy almost certainly would have found a home for his patented over hand right, but he's seemed a bit hesitant to pull the trigger in recent fights and has favored a more calculated takedown/clinch centric approach. The not being able to pull the trigger is usually a sign of age and decline in a fighter.. If that's the case then Volkov will have a much easier time picking Nelson apart from the outside with kicks... The early takedown will be a problem but expect Volkov to tie up Nelson on a ground to negate his offense enough to force a ref stand up, wouldn't rule out a sweep either.. After the 1st rd Nelson will begin to fade as Volkovs kicks start to take effect.... From there on out Volkov picks him apart with ease and takes a clear 29-28 decision.. Of course.. All of this could go out the window in Nelson decides to throw his right hand again and knocks Volkovs head off into the 1st row. But based on recent outings that's not as likely as it once was.

Alright, I think the challenging and people champ rules should be addressed at this point. Since you (the people's champ) are challenging me for tomorrow's pick, what if I decide to change it today or tomorrow? would that count as a win for you? I don't think that's fair. I like the Champ being able to challenge others, but I propose a rule that if the champ challenges someone else, the person being challenged has to accept it. And also, since you are challenging me for tomorrows pick, and there's a whole line up of fights later today, I propose a rule that any challenge can be overruled if somebody challenges the champ on an earlier fight. Define earlier? I can definitely see the loophole in challenging a later pick to avoid being challenged for as long as possible.. But so long as it's on the same day, card it's probably fair. And in that case.. I'll withdraw my challenge of your Dos Santos pick and challenge @CST80 with my Stephens pick.
For example: you challenge cst with your Stephens pick (Stephens vs Carneiro), which is the 10th fight on the card, but if I have say, Cummings, and you have Coy, which is the 2nd fight on the card, I should be able to overrule your challenge with my challenge. And also, are there any consequences to withdrawing a challenge? Just thoughts. What do others think?

I think the same day rule is fine. But being able to leapfrog a challenger by selecting a fight that's even 1-2 fights earlier on a bill is kind of lame. Champions should have more priority than that when it comes to challenges. I've withdrawn my challenge over your Dos Santos pick only to avoid controversy, should Stephens come through and you don't change your pick then we'll just do this challenge again.
I think it creates a more efficient system for competitors, and gets league participants more involved. Once again, what do others think?
Also. If there's any controversy with withdrawing my earlier challenge then I won't do it... I only did it because of the issue that was brought up and to be fair.
I was just raising questions. see for example I have been thinking of changing the Dos Antos pick since I made it. Would that count as a defense for you if I do? and if the option was available I would decline your challenge. Let's see what others think but I stand by that the two rules I mentioned above should be added.
