Is HBO going to do a 24/7 for this fight? I think it's time for some new blood in that series. I'm tired of Pacquiao, Roach and all those played out story lines. They probably won't because it's not a PPV.... that sucks.
Ward would be like the mild version of Pacquiao where he'll be talking about god and showing him going to Church blah blah blah and then training hard along with some 'cool' quotes just before they switch it to Dawson running some hills saying "He's never been in with a guy like me, tall, rangy southpaw". Typical HBO rubbish, as per usual.
I'd watch it, but I'd be more interested in more Bradley and Ortiz on 24/7. I never thought much about Bradley outside the ring before but on 24/7 there were things I could relate to him on. His loyalty to his wife being one. Taking on those two children of hers. He is a true family man. I like him. Andre Ward could come off a bit… Pacquiao with all his religion talk which I really wouldn't want to hear. Just how I feel. I know it might appeal to some but to me it makes me cringe. I don't mind Dawson. I like his trainer Scully so would want to see him get some deserved camera time. Other fighters? I would damn sure want to see Kirkland on 24/7. That ****er, along with Ann Wolfe, would be television gold. Could Brandon Rios be fairly amusing? Not that it would be ppv but a fight that had Rios v Kevin Mitchell could be good for a 24/7 style series as both guys belong in gyms that have a number of personalities in them. Anyway, bottom line, agree with posters above, HBO needs new blood. Kirkland and Ortiz would be genius.
i'm telling you guys, this would be an extremely lukewarm 24/7. it would be interesting from the point of view of a boxing fan, or potential boxing fan, and very few others.
I think it would be a good idea, but would limit it to two episodes. I get calls/texts from guys who don't really watch boxing much but are watching a 24/7 or Faceoff and want some info. It would broaden both guys audiences and HBO seems like they want to build Ward. They had him on the Mayweather/Cotto PPV.
they should start doing 24/7's for non ppv but then if they did that it would played out but if they wanted to put non ppv on 24/7 it shouldnt be this one i think it would be kinda of boring. id rather see martinez vs jr 24/7 but thats ppv
