Pac to fight PBF?! Then i expect to get all the hype up like Ricky Hatton, and then Pac get KO'd and then everyone say that PBF picked on a smaller guy etc. It seems like a vicious cycle of line em up and knock em down.:-(

Yup and all this bull**** will never end until PBF calls it quits for good. I see him getting bored with all this bull**** and walking away from the game very soon. I can't see him taking out whoever wins this tournament type thing and waiting for someone like Berto to gain enough pub to fight.

Once he gets that mega fight ... I don't see any point to fight anymore.

There is alot of talent but its not worth the wait -- he wouldve beaten everyone of any significance and proved what he had to.

I would think that he would go down as one of the greats of this generation. But the question marks will loom over his head about why he didn't face everyone out there etc. Kinda a bum of the month type thing. But you will always have that what if factor included if he does decide to walk away. People will always say that SRL, or Hearns etc were better, but we will never know.

Thats with every fighter -- there has never been a fighter to end his career w/o questions.

Lennox lewis comes to mind ... he fought everyone there was to fight ... he beat everyone he faced and retired as champ, but there's the question to as why he didn't rematch Klitschko. The fight was close and Klitschko was winning on points at the time of the stoppage but Lewis won.

    :think Hmmm

Cotto will most likely be PBF's stiffest challenge so I don't think that's in question, I beleive you and very few others actually feel PBF will steam roll Cotto. Anyone who seriously thinks Pacman (as great as he is) can defeat PBF at this point in each man's career needs to seriously reeducate themseleves in boxing 101....as explosive as Manny is his style of fight will not overwhelm PBF in anyway.

Manny would have to meet PBF at a catch weight of like 138 or so to even make the hypothetical match to happen. With the Diaz loss, I guess he has no where to go but up in weight.

How is Cotto any different than any other fighter that PBF has faced?

I think its the other way around ... PBF will be Cotto's stiffest test --

He's not a big strong welterweight so that arguement can go out the window. He hasn't faced anyone of any significance and none of his opponents can mirror the image and style of PBF.

Why would anyone consider him a big threat?

Because he beat some old guys, up and comers, and journeymen?

There's nothing special about Cotto -- he's the same every time and never shows you anything new.

Who has he fought? Who's title did he take? Where's the lineage? Where's the stiff competition.

You take a guy with 5 KO's the distance doesn't say much about you.

Cotto is a one handed fighter who will get KO'd early if he gets the chance to fight PBF.

He either gets stopped on cuts, or TKO by corner stoppage or ref stoppage.

How is Cotto a stiffer challenge than Hatton? ... Hatton was the 140 champ now and during the time that Cotto and Floyd both reigned.

Guy Floyd has beaten 4 linear champions and has 3 ring magazine belts. Cotto has none.

Genero Hernandez (universally recognized SFW champ)
Jose Luis Castillo (Ring LW champ)
    Ricky Hatton (Ring LWW champ)
    Carlos Baldomir (Ring WW champ)

There's no stiff comp in Cotto ... he's one dimensional - he has no power in the right and Floyd will do what he did to DLH, neutralize the left hook, turn Cotto into a "D" level fighter.

He's done it before and he'll do it again.

Fitz trying to talk the smack now!!! I agree with 60% or so of your post. Cotto hasn't fought anyone really besides up and comers and oldies but goodies. The mali fight though was more of a tribute to (lord forgive me b/c you know i hate this guy) mali's heart and determination to finish the bout. Cotto literally broke the guys face and he still didn't go down. In all honesty, Mali is an extremely poor mans PBF. A 3rd world version minus speed power knowledge etc. So basically a total different fighter, but likes to act like a slick puncher with speed. Anyway, he was undefeated so only time will tell how impressive Cotto's W over him will be. But I'll say he should have a 2 in that L column instead of 1.

So you think Malignaggi goes the distance w/ PBF at 140?

Hell nah!!! PBF would beat the dog **** out of Paulie... Worse than cotto. PBF may not break the guys face, but he will KO him. Unlike Cotto who is "one dimensional" as you say, PBF will find ways to peel through the plucked eyebrows, manicured nails, and puckered lips to get this guy out in 6-8. I think Cotto liked Paulie b/c they have the same metrosexual tendencies as I mentioned before.

did Judah bust up PBF like he did Cotto? Didn't it seem like Cotto had a harder time w/ Judah than PBF did?

Cotto can't handle quicker fighters very well. You saw that in the SSM/Judah fight. Especially the Judah fight when he went to low blows to keep from getting KTFO.
