2nd time in 3 fights that Mayweather has cherrypicked a weak opponent?

Robert Guerrero and Victor Ortiz. Is this really the type of opponent the most skilled veteran in the world should be facing, nearing his final days as a fighter?

I'm disappointed. I figured Mayweather would be hunting big names at this point in the game, after he famously deserted the welterweight scene when Cotto, Margarito, Mosley and Williams were all active, and Pacquiao was shooting up the divisions.

Mayweather should be fighting guys like Canelo Alvarez and Timothy Bradley now, guys who are at least in the p4p discussion. Not B-class fighters with losses to mediocrities on their records, like Ortiz and Guerrero.

We should be getting better from a guy of Floyd's stature, more fights like Cotto. This is just BS again. Another Mayweather 120-108 of very little value or incident: Yawn.

wasn't aware that Ortiz or Guerrero was weak. I do think that Pac is pretty weak that got KO in 6 by an over the hill JMM though.

 

Ortiz was fresh off a big win over Berto who at the time was unbeaten and a title holder.

Guerrero is a 4 weight world champ,comiong off 2 wins over then ranked WW's.

You can mine anyones erecord for bad performances.

Bradley just went life and death with a guy who lost to Mauricio Herrera.

The fact is that Floydc hasnt fought a "weak" fighter since he fought Bruselles..maybe Mitchell, but even Mitchell was a solid fighter in his own right

Floyd is the boss he can fight whoever the **** he wants to.

Actually he is one of the fighters who match make the least. Before he left Arum he fought everyone that he was able to get. Arum protected Oscar, and Cotto. Kostya didn't want to fight Floyd and chose to fight Hatton.

Even after he became the biggest name, he still fought the fights that people want to see. People want to see Oscar, they want to see Hatton as well as Shane. Those three guys were highly demanded, so i don't know what you are talking about. Other elites fought guys that doesn't matter 95% of their careers. Floyd's comp is still a level higher than his rivals.

Exactly. If Manny fought those two, his followers would be blowing him hard. They would say pac is fighting YOUNG PRIME CHAMPIONS! Imagine if Floyd fought bunch of drained and old fighters.

 

It's confusing, even to boxing fans. Look at the Alvarez/Trout fight. They're billing it as a unification bout even though Trout doesn't have a real title.
