That's a remote possibility. What people need to realize is that this is a one time only event and all the parties involved are going to try to utilize every possible revenue stream.

This is the Super Bowl of boxing. Contesting it in a small venue is literally leaving millions of dollars on the table. If either May or Pac was my client, I would recommend a large venue to maximize revenue.

    (a) You're from Orange County, so you can afford to pay 500-1000 for a shitty seat. That's hardly the majority of people who will be sitting in the nosebleeds. Imagine paying even $500 for the last seat in the house.
    (b) You're missing the point. There won't be any extra prime seats unless they plan on making the ring bigger too. It's basically 30K additional seats with the best one being worse than the worst seat in the MGM Theatre.
    (c) Someone already did the math up above for 30k x $200 seats and it doesn't even come close. The OP has it at $1.3K per seat, which is likely not sustainable.
    (d) The money he is talking about will likely come from deals with casinos, since the live gate numbers don't add up.

It just so happens the nosebleeds are always the most lively group in any American sporting event. Have you ever even been to a Boxing, NFL, NBA, NHL, MLB, or even Soccer contest?

Orange County and LA are just a hop away(10 million people). Fans and celebrities from all over the world will fly in for this fight. There are tons of people who make more than me (this would drain my entire fun money and mean no vacation for me and the girl).

A stadium would allow for more ringside seats directly near the ring. It would also allow for luxury boxes or suites of some sort; the type of VIP seating that big money guys spend over $20,000 on for a baseball game in LA, Chicago, NY and Boston. For a fight like this, a 10 man suite could sell for $100,000+. You only need to sell about 20.

I work in sales and marketing in the financial sector and can easily see $25-30 million in revenues from a stadium which my cost $5mil at the most to build.

That's just for a few boxes. 100k is a low figure, by the way. The US dollar is **** right now (thank you Washington D.C.) and Asian currencies are kicking our ass. I guarantee you Japanese and Chinese businessmen would pay $250k+ for a luxury suite complete with hot waitresses and some perks.

The MGM grand has very limited ringside seating. A stadium would probably double it. Due to both domestic and international demand (plus exchange rates), those seats could fetch $10k a piece easily. Just think of how many hotshots from LA alone would buy them.

Plus, a huge stadium will have room for signage, the hotels will bid for the right to have it placed on their land, and every row will have more seats. There will be more seats in every price range.

This is a dream for a salesman. Arum might not get $1300 per seat, but one at $10k plus 5 at $750 is right about $1000. Throw in the site fee and extra advertisements and he might get there. Plus, for every $250k suite, that's $25k per ticket. That will boost your average quickly.

Will boxes be put in for a temp stadium, will a box give a good view for boxing - boxing is different from football/baseball in that it needs closer viewing, how are you going to see punches landed from 100 metres away?

As a boxing fan I'd rather watch on TV than way out of ringside, you simply can't see the fight from way back

Do you know math? figure out for me how this will equal an additional 40million dollars. Without guessing that it has something to do with a fee or something that he never mentioned, just strictly on ticket sales.

Its not whether or not it would generate 25-30 million, its whether it would generate an additional 20-40 million over and above income generated from mgm grand. I don't think there would be luxury boxes in a temp stadium either but thats just my guess I may be dead wrong.

Keep in mind that these aren't boxing fans that are being sold. These are guys who have a ton of money, probably like boxing, but need to see the big event. How many hard core football fans do you think get field level or box seats to the Super Bowl? How many well connected businessmen?

This event is way beyond boxing and will attract the pop culture crowd from around the world. What looks like some random Asian dude on our t.v. sets will be some pop star from Korea. Managers from Wall Street will book the private jet to see this live.

We are the small fish, the $65 ppv buy, when they are looking at this stadium. Overall, we add up to larger numbers, but this isn't about us.

Definitely don't think the math adds up. The bigger the stadium the higher the supply of tickets the less you can charge. It's not like you just double the gate of the MGM grand. Plus, MGM is booked and you'd have to pay for the cost of the temporary stadium. Arum is full of ****.

I have done sales and marketing for years and am a huge sports fan. One of my favorite parts of sports is the business side.

I do have a little experience in promoting concerts and music festivals, and I work in finance, so between the two I figure if I can sell it, so can Arum.

I agree, this is a MEGA global fight & anyone who's anyone will want to attend, back in 97 i went to the Tyson/Holyfield II fight & i was the only person in the UK that was guaranteed a ticket as absolutly none were put on sale. Don King kept the lot & all thanks to a buddy of mine who was ****ing a bird in DKP that i got mine guaranteed whilst all others were weeping blood begging for a ticket. All lower level tickets were $1500 even back then & the rest i believe were $1000. It was a who's who of planet america in attendance.

Tickets were going for a standard $16,000, there was a 2 page spread in the Las Vegas Sun by ticket agencies offering that amount for $1500 tickets as none of the casino's could get their hands on enough to satisfy the VIP High rollers who flew into town. It did'nt matter what ticket it was, you had to be there & this fight is one of those "I was there" & if not "Who the **** are yer"

I should imagine if the fight goes on at the MGM then the lower level tickets will change hands from $20K+ which is just a casino chip tip for the celeb great & good who will infest every seat. No tickets will be made available for public consumption regardless of the bullsht lies saying they will be & that they sold out in 20 minutes CRAP!!! NO TICKETS WILL GO ON SALE!!!

Tyson fights were all mega events, I expect this too go big, but i don't think it will be as big as people think in comparison to Tyson/Holyfield, i could be wrong, but to have this fight in a tempory arena would make a pile, the drop would be enormous, all the best lower views would fetch a premium from $20K+ to $5K & the bleachers would be around $1K-$500. It's all about being there. I paid $500 for my bleachers seat in sept 1990 for Holyfield/Douglas, i was mightly pissed off & so was my missis when we had to scale the heights too block AAA & that was face value.

Let the plasma telly brigade stay at home with their dicks in hand, **** them!! I want to expearence the whole week of drama in vegas & even if the fights at the MGM i'll still fly over just to watch it in a bar on PPv for $100 & have a full-on tecata/tequila blast off.

:good Don't feel bad about not being able to see pac in vegas or dallas, just thank god we have high def TV. It ai'nt cheap in Vegas for anyone from any part of the planet & to go watch a fight there is for most a once in a lifetime trip. But at least you have Pac at home & no doubt one day you'll actually get to see/meet him albeit for the briefest of moments but it'll be a moment for you to treasure for the rest of yer days.:yep

I was only able to afford all the big fights in Vegas as i used to be an "Up-Market" SLUM LORD back in the 80's & 90's & i was fortunate enough to be in at the start of the property morgage fraud boom & had the bonus of having all my junkie tenants i'd's available too hand so was able to raise huge tranches of cash & credit cards on their names which financed my wonderfull trips too vegas too watch all the big fights. I can't thank these junkies enough & i only wish that they were still alive today so i could thank them i really do.

So there's plenty of time for you to plot & plan & there's no better start than getting yer mates around for a friendly poker game whilst watching the Pac/Floyd fight & then proceed to fleece them or at the very least drug the ****s next time yer take-em to a bar & make sure yer leave with all their money! See yer in vegas pal:yep
