We need more Joe Louis and Jack Dempsey related books like the Titanic needed another iceberg. Give me Clay Moyle's Langford opus, Paxton's Greb book, Kelly Nicholson's Jeffries book or one of Adam Pollack's any day.

Let me add "Charley Burley and the Black Murderer's Row" by Harry Otty and "The Fighting Irish" by Roger Anderson. Excellent reads.

About halfway through. It's good. I'm not constantly drawn back to smash through it but I've got a lot on. It's not big, I reckon on a good week I'd have blasted through it. Certainly readable and sets the scene well.

I'm currently reading the Joe Louis biography by Randy Roberts, really enjoying it so far.

Not surprised to see Sweet Thunder on there, that was captivating and I'm not normally a reader of long books.

Other than that Hands of Stone by Christian Giudice was good, currently waiting for Waterstones to send me his Alexis Arguello bio but its taking forever.

Thank you for the link. I bought Beyond Glory by David Margolick for my iPad instantly. I also enjoyed his book "Two Women from Little Rock". Really talented writer.

The best one I've read yet.

Also "The Good Son" about Ray Mancini and "Floyd Patterson: The fighting life of Boxing's invisible champion" are very good as well.

Thanks for the tip Clay :good

Might get that, Muldoon was certainly an interesting character. Basically invented pro wrestling. Mates with Fitz.
