He never got a 1M dollar payday. Just 2 fights ago he made only 350K before weight penalties. Keep in mind, Nonito DOnaire(who HBO has heavily invested in) just got his 1M dollar payday in December.
I would guess Broner was making over a mil a fight or real close to it now. His number for HBO were huge his last few fights.
Broner - $350k v escebedo, $600k v Demarco and not sure about the last fight but he hasn't seen a million dollar purse yet, I think thats what GBP were negioating with HBO for a multi fight deal and push that figure to what he is worth, 2 weight world champion, entertaining and moving up in weight, HBO were paying Floyd $3 million when he was fighting at 140 in non title fights against bruselles and Corley They might of cut the budget down since but Broner is worth $1.5 atleast
A deal with GBP would gurantee Broner fights in Showtime against GBP fighters. A deal with Top Rank would gurantee him fights on HBO against Top Rank fighters. A deal with 50 cent would gurantee him fights on either network against either promotion. Broner would have more of a chance of fighting guys like Bradley, Mayweather, Pac, Rios, Marquez, Khan, etc if he doesn't sign with a promotion that is in conflict with the other "big" promotion. Golden Boy has 3/4 of the belts and other guys like Thurman, Berto, Guerrero in the wings. They have almost all of 140-154 locked down.
