This opinion seems to be predicated on Foreman not being able to close the distance on Vitali, with Vitali forcing the contest to be meted out from long range. But I really do not see how Vitali keeps Foreman at a comfortable distance; not for any significant period of the fight. Lesser boxers have made it through whatever forcefield some like to think Vitali had. So, it's reasonable to assume that Foreman would make this a close-up fight and I really can't see Vitali running away from that. This bout has 'tear-up' written all over it.
about the same number to beat an equivalent MW turned LHW/HW like roy jones. Ask a dumb question, get a dumb answer. although roy only took a title, bob was lineal in the nearest sense of the world and managed a defence too
Huge Foreman fan here, but this is a bad match-up for him... He would need to re-discover his great jab and straighter punches to have a chance... I actually see 90s Foreman holding up better here...
Exactly my point. Vitali probably out boxes him but when Foreman gets through Vitali will end up exchanging with him. How many toe to toe exchanges do you think Vitali will survive with Foreman?
More like: how does Foreman react when he lands his best punch and Vitali is still there firing back?
So George Foreman is going to KO a guy that was NEVER knocked out in 45 fights, who is taller, bigger, and stronger than him. Add to the equation the Ukrainian probably possesses more skills, and technical ability than Foreman, and you can see why morons would predict a Foreman stoppage. When do they get to wave those stupid little stars and stripes and make that feeble chant, usa, usa, usa?
I would have said it in a kinder, more diplomatic way, taking account of people's feelings, socio-economic circumstances and uh, ... stuff ... but, yeah, this ^ :good
Never knocked down yeah? Who are the bogey men he faced who give him such an honour ? Arreola? Who did he ever knock down? Peter? He's only known for getting knocked down and out. He couldn't even beat a fat shot middle weight , never mind knock him out. Sanders? He had no business being in a championship ring? Byrd? He lost to him Thats his greatest hit list :rofl
