Intrested on reading peoples fight predictions for each fighter and how they think the fight panns out. Theres 10 names here if you dont want to take a look at how the fight goes with all of them just pick a few, dont want to impose to big a task on anyone.

I look forward to your opinions and hoping to learn a little more about Benitez.

The poll choices need work. I pick 5, but the option for that is 4-7 which makes one think its more.

There should he a 4-5 option, and a separate 6-7 option in the poll.

OK, here is my take in a Benitez-Fairweather fight:

Somehow, both fighters share key characteristics: they are smart, fast fighters with punching power and great defensive skills. Thus, the fight could be evenly matched.

But Fairwather has a slight edge in two key areas: defensive skills, too smart to fall in some trap, and.... he can take a hard punch and survive.

That means that:
a) Benitez won't be able to catch Fairweather with a decent punch; and
b) Even if Benitez manages to catch Fairweather somehow, I don't know if that will be enough to stop Fairweather.

In a nutshell: even if Benitez is a great figher, fast and strong, he is simply not fast enough and strong enough to take Fairweather out. Benitez can't hurt Floyd, but Floyd can hurt Benitez.

Thus, in my mind, the fights goes in a similar way to Benitez-Leonard: two fighters on top of their games, too smart defensively to be caught easily; but Floyd is simply better in the defensive skills department and in the offensive skills department he is good and smart enough to be able to open Benitez's fine defense and wear him gradually.

Overall good post, but no way Floyd stops Benites. It's like snowball chance in hell.

Floyd is 15-0 (only 3 KOs!!!) above 140.

That KOs were against

- shot glass-jawed 140 Sharmba Mitchell (body punch)
- 140 lb competitor Ricky Hatton (only ONE good Floyd KO over 140)
- cheap shot KO over glass-jawed and glass-hearted Ortiz (who was later KO'd by featherfisted Collazo).

Benitez in turn was never KO'd by Duran or Hearns, and against Leonard it was bullsh*t stoppage.

Leonard, Duran and Hearns all had great power at WW, unlike Floyd who is featherfisted at that weight.
