A better h2h HW (Holyfield or Frazier)

Nice thread. I think I'll go with Holyfield against a common field as well. More versatility, more ways to win. I'd give Holy a fighting chance against pretty much any heavy in history, whereas Frazier was more one dimensional although better at what he did. There would be some styles that would give him hell, whereas Holy had the skillset to recalibrate and take a different approach if necessary.

 

I saw Frazier beat the crap out of Ali, Ali would have won a wide decision over Evander. Fighting other all time greats Joe wins far more than Holy does. Plus I'd have Joe taking Evander apart in a 15 rounder, Evander doesn't have the power to keep Joe off.

 

I'm not sure Ali would have an easy time against Holyfield.

 

Wouldn't be easy but it would be decisive, 10 -5, Ali's jab would swell his face and he'd have Evander in trouble during the fight. Unless you think Holyfield can out box Muhammed Ali.

 

Eh..Not really. That was only Joe 11th Professional fight. Ringo wasn't a great heavyweight but he was more experienced and awkward. Frazier beat him convincingly 2 years later after he was more seasoned. With that said I do agree that Holyfield had a better ability to adapt to different styles than Frazier did. He probably does better in the long run.
