Fight was never gonna happen in 2009 it would've been first half of 2010. Floyd agreed to everything: pacquiao's date, 50/50, 10 million dollar per pound over penalty. Pacquiao refused the test. Roach is on record saying it was their fault. You can blame Floyd for the 40 million flat offer in 2012 but not for the 2010 negotiations.

Who else did he duck in their prime? Shane Mosley? You have it backwards, my friend. Mosley only wanted the Floyd fight once Floyd was a bigger name than he was.

As far as this thread's topic: MAB win might just be a better win than any individual win Floyd has but Floyd's depth of resume, lack of failures, sheer dominance, and longevity (fighter of the year in 1998 and p4p#1 in 2015) is why he ranks higher to me.

Pac vs. Barrera is a great win but overstated when some people try to make it out as one of the very best of all time or something monumental like that...

Yes, he did. He said, "because of the drug testing and stuff."

I guess you've been living in a cave right? Roach has come out and admitted that the reason the fight didn't place back in 2010 was because of them, they didn't want the testing. The video has been posted countless times. Educate yourself or log off.

Yep Canelo, Maidana, Ortiz, Guerrero, Marquez, Judah, Hatton, Mitchell, Vargas, Manfredy, Castillo, Chico, Hernandez, Chavez, Cotto, are all pass their prime :think

Then there's Oscar, Mosley, Pacquiao, Gatti, hell even Emmanuel Augustus, just admit it, he's fought them all and beat them all.

Barrera was past prime and Pac made a career off beating washed up guys with a name.

Floyd has always went after the biggest fights. The only two he couldn't get sooner were Mosley (claimed he had a hurt tooth) and Pac (refused drug testing).

they really try hard to elevate floyd's greatness when in reality he is over rating him on his atg status. he did not dominate his division when he was prime. he did not clean up all legitimate challenges to consider he has a very great skill. he retired when the welter weight division was full of good match ups and unretired when the dust settled down. he came back to fight slow fighters and still he didn't really dominate them but just showed his preserved speed on slow fighters. he has fought past prime opponents lately but he just dominates in speed and avoids wars by just running around and pot shotting for a win on slow aged fighters. at least with pac who fights past prime fighters in a battle everytime. past opponents of floyd are now being built up and past pac opponents are being discredited just to justify the runner's tbe claim which is again weak because they are basing floyd's greatness by comparing it to pac's. there are a lot more atg's ahead of pac and floyd to begin with and all these maneuvers are just actually on getting one ahead of the other in atg rankings. most fans atg list did not change after the pac-floyd fight since it happened too late, they are already both past primes. pac is still ahead of floyd in most atg rankings.

Marco Antonio Barrera was a prime featherweight at his best weight class during the Pacquiao loss. From about 2001-2004 was his absolute prime as fighter. After that he got a little up there in age. Before that he was relied too much on brawling. During his prime he was a masterclass technician and the best body puncher of his era.

For you to come in here and insult his skills is a travesty.

I am comparing Barrera to Hernandez, the way I see it, Genaro was a better fighter and a more accomplished fighter. You do know the career of Chicanito correct?

The way you see it is your deal. But Barrera is an extremely highly regarded fighter. He's an icon in boxing. It's just what it is.

    in other words

:|:|:| Floyd beat Excusequiao but Excusequiao is better than Barrera, hence Floyd > Excusequiao. No dumbass trasitive theory needed! H2H Floyd schools Excusequiao!
