No lightheavy would ko Joe Frazier...the hardest hitter of them all was Foster and he couldn't bother Joe,...and no lightheavyweight EVER beats the FOTC Frazier.

Definitely. I don't see many if any heavyweights beating Joe Frazier by a decision let alone a light heavyweight. Size isn't the be all and end all, but for this particular antidote to Frazier's style it would play a factor from the get go.

I think it's fair to say no one gets the best of him unless he had an off night.

James Toney - let's imagine Toney is in shape at 175 and he had fights at the weight before the Jones fight. In that case the stylistic match up suits him. He isn't getting knocked out and he could possibly outhustle Frazier, beating him to the punch, making him miss and countering him while rolling in the pocket.

I know it's an odd pick but style wise it makes sense

THink you might be giving Toney just a bit too much benefit of the doubt there, power.

This fighter you're talking about. He didn't actually exist.

Toney had a problem with workrate, especially up this high, and you think he's a good match-up with Joe Frazier?

I mean, Jirov. That's like a poor man's tiny flea on the fluffy poodle of Frazier.

Toney is as live as anyone if he showed up on the same condition as when he beat Holy.

It's a challenge to name another heavyweight who would have beaten the Ali of March 8, '71. The Frazier of the same fight chews up and spits out probably every light-heavyweight.

    Sam Langford would be interesting.

If were talking about Frazier in his prime I wouldn't give any light heavyweights much of a chance in fact there is only a number of heavyweights I give much of a chance to and that's saying something considering Frazier's size and style....

Agreed. He looked far better against Bob Foster than Dempsey did vs Carpentier or Marciano did vs Moore.
