Although that is one of the hardest fights to pick. Today i think Olivares wins yesterday it was Zarate
He's pretty elusive. Though I do notice that more and more stuff shows up on the internet as years go by. I have a lot of clippings, five scrapbooks full. I'm missing one book, the last of his career, got lost in one of my cross-country moves. Box rec is close, but not exact. His record was 43-12-3. At least half of those losses, according to what he told me could have gone the other way. How many of his wins could have gone the other way, he never elaborated on.
Chinx if you ever get some time, you think you could scan afew articles and put them up here? Would be great to read.
Found this old thread, GP, on the Dauthuille fight. http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?t=76620 And this article is from the same fight that's in my avatar. Thanks for your interest in this GP. This content is protected

http://www.harrygreb.com/AllentownJoeGans.jpeg Well he was adapted by fans in Wilkes Barre P.A . and highly thought of. Two nights after Jack Delaney put Tiger Flowers to sleep in a M.S.G. main he, Jack Delaney, subbed for Tiger vs Alentown Joe. Sez the 3 Wilkes Barre paps, Joe got off the canvas and held Delaney to a draw in a hellva battle. Pretty impressive as Delaney would go on to be called the greatest of all L.t. Heavyweights by both Benny Leonard and Grantland Rice. Also recall an older poster once saying, when he was a kid he befriended an old black guy who drove a cab, and the cabdriver would say the most beautiful boxing he'd ever seen was A.J. Gans and Tommie Laughran sparring.
