Nick Ball - new world champ Daniel Dubois - new interim world champ Sheeraz - now mandatory challenger Hutchinson - now a player at world level Last night highlighted how strong british boxing is. Always new talent coming through.
What is it about that comment that would make you think I worked for Matchroom. I was backing Queensbury precisely because there was 3 members of his A team on show
Agree. To what do we credit this over the past few years? A mixture of Team GB doing well and feeding the system with well trained amateurs? Two (three?) good promotions and TV channels competing for business? Both?
Frank Warren has saved British Boxing for Queensbury and country. The only question I have is what will come first - a call from the Palace to arise Sir Frankie Boy or will he get his own kitchen towel to cover his barnet.
I agree. It doesn't matter if Matchroom or Queensberry wins. The most important thing is that we got a cracking card with some excellent fights.
The main thing is I won a fair bit of bunse on Bivol, Sheeraz and Zhang all winning by KO. That's the main thing. Was a bloody good card though.
I fancied Ball, Sheeraz, Zhang all to win. Thought Craig Richards & Hrgovic would come up trumps for Matchroom.
I think we all agree that it didn't matter who won out of QP Vs MR and that it was a gimmick to add more spice to the event. But its been fantastic to watch Frank's rise back up the British ladder, and then crowning that rise with the whitewash in Riyadh.
Certainly better than Usyk and Cordina losing their world titles and Taylor being done at world level, although on the upside Catterall looks like he is a world title contender.
