Holyfield had already been stopped by Bowe long before Lewis was in Holyfield's picture. And the competition in the heavyweight division between the late sixties and early seventies was much better than in the 90's.

When was Holyfield's prime? It seems to come and go to suit the arguement.

Further props to Lewis who managed to have a prime that lasted more than two years!

LEwis is one of the greatest heavyweights, but Ali was one of the greatest p4p fighters ever. Its not the same thing.

Tyson did indeed duck Lewis in fact Don King paid him $4 mil to step aside so he could avoid meeting him

    Quote:

Klitschko, the holder of the WBC belt, also revealed yesterday the key player in the failure to set up a rematch with Lennox Lewis.

"Lennox invited me to London to talk – just me and him," he said. "When I arrived he was there and so was his mum. As we were talking his mum was scanning me up and down. A couple of hours later I got a call from him. No fight. It was his mum's decision."

    I think Holyfield's prime was 1987 - '92 or '93. That's a good 6 years.

    Yes, Lewis was remarkable, his prime lasted maybe 8, 9 or 10 years ('92 - '00/ '02)

Yeah, without doubt. Lewis was a top ten ATG heavyweight, where you rank him is debateable.
